Fred Well is a Bergen-based artist. He is signed to the same management team as Sigrid and AURORA, and is surfing the new nordic music wave. The production is crisp; a style pitched between pop, RnB and electronic music. His voice is silky smooth and crystal clear. Think Justin and Pharrell mixed with the blue-eyed soul of Morten Harket.
With More Than A Maybe Fred Well brings back a nostalgic 90’s vibe, mixed with catchy instrumental hooks and his massive voice. In between there’s a lot of details and snacks for the vigilant listener. When asked of the lyrics and sound, he replies, “I think almost everyone can relate to the lyrics, whether it’s love, work or small stuff in your everyday life.”
“The hook is catchy as hell”, he says with a twinkle in his eye, while he tells the story of how the song was made, “I remember the day quite clearly as it was a Sunday and we were all very hungover. Originally, the plan was to do a mix for a different song, but our heads felt like exploding and we started playing on something different just for fun. After an hour we had composed a brand new song and we were thrilled to have accomplished this piece without even a thought in mind of doing so.“
After releasing Complicated in September, Fred Well has been busy opening for both Sigrid in London, dePresno in Bergen and Trondheim, and played at Vill Vill Vest – a showcase festival in Bergen. In December he released his second single Superhero, followed by an acoustic video. March 12 he will join Sigrid on her sold-out tour across Great Britain! “I’m really looking forward to go on tour with Sigrid – she is such a wonderful person and awesome performer!”
